Guiding Principle, Quote or Mantra

I let him/her show me who he/she is.

This mantra honors the person you are with to be their own individual self and it gives you the space to be who you are as well.

When You Tripped Up

Emily had been with someone for about 5 years off and on he had gotten very sick. But he was afraid it was something he would not be able to do anything about so he avoided going to the doctor.

It went on for months and he was literally wasting away as a result of his illness.

Emily was at the point where she was practically betting him to see a doctor, but he wouldn’t. Finally she felt like she was watching him die and she called a doctor for him.

The moment she hung up the phone she knew she had done both of them a huge disservice. Something shifted in their relationship and she took on a caretaker role. This was her trip up.

Looking back she is aware that what would have served her better would have been to leave the relationship even though she loved him.

Proudest moment in partnership

Early on in a recent relationship something was off, but Emily didn’t know what it was.

After a while she sat down with him and asked him about it he denied anything. Even though she got no clear answer she still knew something was off and she followed the guidance she was getting and left.

They talked later and she found out her instinct had been correct and was grateful she followed her intuition and took care of herself.

Current Partnership that Has You Excited

Emily is bringing on an operations manager for her company who is also her best friend from high school.

They have worked together in the past as coach and client and now her friend is getting to help her in return.

What is the best partnership / relationship advice you have ever received?

Emily’s grandfather told her to never go to bed angry in your romantic relationship.

Set a weekly, sacred conversation time to discuss with your partner what is working and what is not working in the relationship. Any trivial things from the week will have likely gone away and if it was big it will still be there to address.
